While The Fish Shak provides an extraordinary culinary experience, pricing can climb, as noted in customer reviews. Some patrons highlight the perception of cost relative to the portion sizes, which might leave you eyeing your wallet. For instance, Nicole Sparks mentioned the prices might stretch the budget for frequent visits, particularly when adding drinks and sauces. But, as Chesca pointed out, the wait is worthwhile when the food arrives piping hot and fresh, which is consistently celebrated by returning customers.
As I sampled the dishes, I found the flavors to be impressive and well-seasoned. The fish was moist and perfectly cooked, providing a taste that transports you right to the ocean. Additionally, the atmosphere is lovely—the casual setting, friendly staff, and serene views of the water create an inviting dining experience. Families can relax knowing their little ones are entertained by the playful seagulls, adding to the beachy vibe.
The Fish Shak - Marine Parade has carved a niche for itself as a must-visit seafood establishment where fresh, high-quality meals await amidst the stunning backdrop of Marine Parade. While prices may be on the higher end, the combination of flavor, freshness, and atmosphere make it an experience worth savoring. So gather your loved ones and head over; you won't be disappointed!
“ Have been here 2 times for a family lunch this year , lovely location , food fresh but you can't do it often as prices are very expensive $28.50 for a small grilled fillet and small chips ...drinks are NOT included in any meals and Sauce a whopping $3 abit greedy . A shame because it's a prime spot for mums to bring their kids for lunch but costs an arm and a leg ”
“ We've ordered two regular fish and chips. With a bit of a wait of about 15 minutes but because there is a que and also the food came out piping hot and super fresh. We sat under the sun looking out the marina. It was very relaxing except for the seagulls wanting some chips. I recommend this place for the fresh fish and chips. ”
“ Impressive non meat options on the menu, cost was affordable too & a nice decent sized meal when I'd be saving up for dinner which meant putting the vegetarian "snack" items with the "main menu" listing including a deal with chips/drink added. Despite my "dietary requirements" they did well with the service & my first visit was good so I can make it"my regular restaurant" then they'll know what I want before I order it in the future? 100% happy as a local establishment that has such an impressive variety with their menu where vegan-vegetarian- plant-based. ”
“ Food was excellent and well seasoned. The serving was massive and tasty! My toddler enjoyed her milkshake and her chips( she kept saying YUMMY on every bite and sip). The staff were accommodating and they even shucked fresh oysters for us. Overall, I would definitely recommend and go back here and will bring my in laws to try their food ”
“ Great place to share your favourite seafood with friends and/or family. I personally went for the classic Crumbed Cod and Chips and wasn't disappointed at all. Golden Crumbed and just a nice serving of chips. Cod was moist and filled with flavour. Mightn't be a big thing, but I liked how customers were able to choose/add Chicken Salt to their own meals. The decor and settings was pleasant with nice ambient music that filled the eating area (inside) nicely. The ordering staff were very helpful, friendly with HUGE smailes and advised/suggested what was good to have or what the recommendation was for the day. The seating was clean and inviting and the odd wandering seagull through the cafe, really added to the, 'by the sea' vibe. It is wheelchair friendly and the cafe has a side (smaller cafe) area that caters for your more general 'short order' meals. There is fresh seafood section to invest in, if you want as well. Toilets are just around the corner from the cafe, which seem to be public and cater for all that visit the local water park nearby. If your after a well priced and casual dining experience on the Broadwater, then give The Fish Shack a try, you won't be disappointed. ”
“ Amazing place, to wait for fresh fish cooked in a nice batter in a simple matter finished with salt and the apple of the earth (potato) fried crispy with crystallised salt is masterful, thank you for feeding my family guys I will be back and please anyone coming here remember good food and fresh food takes time and enjoy it ”
“ Great service. Love the girls here, courteous and helpful. Had breakfast here and it was great. The sourdough is to die for. Try the chilli eggs, and start your day with a little kick ”
